Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Operations Manager to join our team at eNature Greenhouses Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our farm, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Farm Activities

Supervise and coordinate the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.

Manage Crop Production

Oversee the production of crops, including plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting, to ensure maximum yields and quality.

Maintain Farm Safety and Bio-Security

Ensure that all farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed, including the development and implementation of procedures to prevent the spread of disease and pests.

Manage Financial and Production Records

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial and production records, including records of crop yields, expenses, and sales.

Coordinate with Clients

Negotiate with clients to provide services, including the provision of fresh produce and other agricultural products.

Operate and Maintain Farm Machinery and Equipment

Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, including tractors, sprayers, and other equipment, to ensure that they are in good working order.

Perform General Farm Duties

Perform general farm duties, including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs, to ensure that the farm is well-maintained and efficient.

Requirements
  • Education

College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in farm operations, crop production, or a related field.

Skills

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and coordinate the work of others.

Certifications

First Aid Certificate and Pesticide Applicator's Licence.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and a physically demanding workload. The ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail is essential.
