Job Summary:

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Family Physician - Addiction Medicine to work at the Addictions Outpatient Clinic in Richmond. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to individuals with complex addiction issues, including opioid addiction, and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide innovative and comprehensive assessment and treatment to support the recovery of individuals living with complex addiction issues
  • Manage chronic diseases, such as COPD, CAD, CHF, and DM2
  • Manage basic mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and OCD, and refer patients as needed to mental health teams
  • Monitor bloodwork for patients on anticoagulants, seizure medications, and other medications
  • Provide basic trans care and HIV PrEP/STI management
  • Perform age-related screening and monitoring, including pap smears, mammograms, and lipid profiles
  • Ensure patients are up to date with immunizations, including tetanus, MMR, and pneumovax
  • Work with allied health professionals to complete insurance forms, disability forms, and other paperwork
  • Assess patients for urgent issues, such as viral illnesses, URIs, and UTIs
Qualifications:
  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License
  • Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) certification
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
