Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Autonomous Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions that meet our manufacturing facilities' requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop plans for testing and debugging automation equipment, applying knowledge of engineering technology as necessary.
  • Design engineering solutions that meet manufacturing facilities' requirements while monitoring budget constraints to maximize production equipment quality and efficiency.
  • Assist in preparing project scope, cost justification, and AFE (overall cost proposal) for senior management approval.
  • Maintain awareness of and control project cost, quality, scope, and schedule to ensure on-time delivery of projects within internal budgets.
  • Lead or participate in engineering design reviews as required and requested by Management.
  • Conduct R&D activities concerned with integration and testing of electronic/mechanical components and systems, and in the development of applications.
  • Apply mechanical theory, mechanical testing procedures, and related knowledge to layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production equipment.
  • Program software to configure and/or make modifications to automated systems and process control systems, including maintaining a backup library of robotic, PLC, and other instrumentation software.
  • Evaluate, select, and coordinate with outside vendors for the design, machining, and fabrication of tooling and systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or a minimum of 7 years equivalent experience.
  • Experience with hydraulics, robotics, electrical systems, automation.
  • Experience with stamping, welding, and palletizing a plus.
  • Strong MS Office, Visio, Inventor, Auto Cad, RSLogix 500 or 5000.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC, industrial sensors, and pneumatic systems.
