- Merchandise and Services: Determine the types of merchandise and services to be sold in the store, and ensure that they are properly displayed and marketed.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and sale of merchandise, ensuring that inventory levels are adequate and that stock is rotated regularly.
- Customer Service: Ensure that customers receive exceptional service, responding to their needs and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Financial Management: Manage the store's finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
- Store Maintenance: Ensure that the store is clean, safe, and well-maintained, including the maintenance of equipment and fixtures.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with some college or university education in a related field an asset.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or grocery store management role is required.
