Job Summary

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse to provide a full continuum of public health services to individuals in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Protect, restore, and promote health and reduce the incidence of disease and disability through health promotion, health protection, and disease/injury prevention activities.
  • Practice within the context of the Department's Model of Care and be responsible for public health programs as determined by the needs of the community.
  • Work with others in the community on a range of public health issues as determined by community priorities to empower Nunavummiut to live healthy lives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree of Nursing, or Diploma in Nursing with Certificate in Public Health, plus a minimum of two years public health nursing experience or related.
  • Eligible to register with RNANTNU.
  • Experience working in remote and isolated communities, Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) Skills Online courses, Canadian Nurse Association (CAN) and Canadian Health Nurses of Canada (CHNC) certification considered assets.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages would be considered an asset.
