Job Title: Transportation Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Transportation Specialist to join our team at the Canadian Red Cross. As a key member of our Community Health & Wellness Transportation program, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of medical equipment and personnel in the North Simcoe Muskoka Branch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle.
  • Load and unload medical equipment and supplies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and clients to ensure smooth delivery and pickup of equipment.
  • Follow all policies and procedures to maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and represent the Canadian Red Cross positively in the community.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Province of Ontario, Class "G" Driver's License with a minimum of two years driving experience.
  • Good driving record and familiarity with location of major city streets.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in all weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Working alone while on route in the community.
  • High tolerance for traffic congestion and possible adverse weather conditions.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.
