At the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, we're seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Before & After School Program, you'll play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment that fosters healthy, strong, and connected communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional care to children, including personal care, first aid, and medication administration.
  • Engage with children and ensure their safety and supervision in a group setting.
  • Plan and implement play-based learning in accordance with our YMCA Curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with families, staff, and volunteers.
  • Provide an inclusive environment that supports the needs of all children.
  • Adhere to our Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure program success.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Up-to-date immunizations.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, approximately 6:30-8:45am & 2:45-6:00pm.
  • Passion for working with children and providing quality play-based learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 kg, and participate in physical activities.
