Job Title: Nle'kepmxcin Language Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Nle'kepmxcin Language Instructor to join our team at School District #58 (Nicola-Similkameen). The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Nle'kepmxcin language and culture to students in our elementary and secondary schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Nle'kepmxcin language and culture to students in grades K-12
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of our students
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to support student learning
  • Provide support for students with diverse learning needs
Requirements:
  • Fluency in Nle'kepmxcin language
  • First Nations Language teacher certificate for Nle'kepmxcin or eligibility for this certificate
  • Knowledge and understanding of Nle'kepmx and/or Syilx culture
  • Training and experience working with grade-level students
  • Valid BC Teaching certificate or eligible for Letter of Permission
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience/training in supporting the social-emotional learning needs of students
  • Commitment to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Commitment to working as a member of a school team in support of students
Benefits:
