We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Weekend Support Supervisor to join our team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of Reena's residential systems and the well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities and their staff on weekends.

As an On-Call Weekend Direct Support Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to our dedicated staff while upholding Reena's policies, procedures, and Collective Agreement articles. Your expertise in problem-solving and decision-making will be crucial in addressing challenging situations effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advisory Capacities:
    • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Reena's policies and procedures, as well as staff Collective Agreements.
    • Provide guidance to staff members facing challenging or unusual situations, ensuring adherence to established protocols and escalating issues to appropriate authorities when necessary.
    • Maintain a solution-oriented approach while handling complex situations, prioritizing the safety and well-being of individuals in our care.
    • Ensure adequate staffing levels across all locations by efficiently managing shift replacements according to Collective Agreement guidelines.
    • Complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Supervisory Capacities:
    • Collaborate with the supervisory team to ensure the seamless operation of Reena's residential and day programs.
    • Offer support and guidance to staff members during challenging situations, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Make informed decisions promptly based on available information, conducting thorough follow-up actions as needed.
    • Stay current with mandatory training requirements and actively participate in professional development opportunities.
    • Work closely with the Residential System Team and other departments to share information, brainstorm solutions, and streamline procedures that benefit the entire organization.
    • Communicate all relevant information, issues, or serious occurrences to the Residential Manager, adhering to established reporting channels for further attention.
    • Attend meetings as required to contribute to team discussions and decision-making processes.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A three-year related College Diploma or undergraduate University Degree (Social Services preferred).
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of experience and related courses.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, demonstrating a strong understanding of their unique needs and challenges.
  • Exceptional creative problem-solving, decision-making, and initiative skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritize multiple assignments effectively and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (both verbal and written), and conflict resolution skills.
  • A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
