Job Title: Prototype Development Technician

Adecco Canada is seeking a skilled Prototype Development Technician to join our team in Scarborough, ON. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test prototype components and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consult with engineering teams to establish and evaluate assignment requests and deliverables
  • Work with project teams to ensure project expectations are understood and achieved
  • Evaluate solutions for feasibility, functionality, structural integrity, and ease of manufacture
  • Propose adjustments and/or design changes to simplify or improve the idea/design
  • Research and develop new fabrication techniques to simplify the process or find ways to develop or assemble the model efficiently
Requirements:
  • College or University degree/diploma in Industrial Design or Mechanical Engineering (or similar field)
  • Ability to operate various shop equipment, including table saws, CNC machines, routers, grinders, lathes, and milling machines
  • Ability to read various measuring instruments and technical drawings
  • Basic knowledge of MS Outlook, Contact Management systems, MS Excel, and MS Word Processing software
  • Intermediate to advanced Solidworks/Camworks and/or AutoCad/Toolpath experience and knowledge
