Afternoon Operations Manager

Job Summary:
The Afternoon Operations Manager will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the afternoon shift, ensuring the efficient operation of the production team. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the afternoon shift, including assigning work orders and directing resources to meet production goals.
- Conduct final inspections and closures of the facility at the end of each shift, ensuring all doors are locked and alarms are set.
- Review and oversee final inspection of work orders to ensure completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Participate in production roles as required to complete orders on time, including seaming, cuffing, quality inspection, packaging, and staging.
- Review and ensure completion of all scanning and documentation required within the ERP system.
- Provide direction and guidance to production staff, responding to general work-related questions and addressing personnel challenges.
- Communicate with the Production Supervisor and Manufacturing Manager regarding work-related challenges, scheduling, and personnel issues.
- Provide onboarding and training to new hires on the afternoon shift.
- Complete administrative tasks as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager, including work order closures, reporting, and other duties.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members and management in a team environment.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a Team Leader position, overseeing a group of 10-15 production staff.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and problems effectively.
- Detail-oriented and excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent walking and standing for long periods of time.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating production resources and assigning work orders.
- Responsible for supervising and dealing with personnel challenges, as required.
- Responsible for the health and safety within the facility.
- Responsible for communicating and reporting any equipment or personnel challenges to the Manufacturing Manager.
- Responsible for the overall operation and safety of the facility during the afternoon shift.
Decision Making:
- Allocate departmental resources to ensure completion of work orders.
