Job Title: Building Maintenance Worker

Prestressed Systems Inc. is seeking a reliable and skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors, as well as operating industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and waste.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens, and perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Health and Safety: Perform safety and security checks, and clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Handling heavy loads, physically demanding work, and up to 45 kg (100 lbs) weight handling.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, and reliability.
