Job Title: Gas Technician

We are seeking a skilled Gas Technician to join our team at Air Movement Inc. As a Gas Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas heating units and their components, as well as attending to gas escape calls and assisting emergency response workers in the investigation of gas fires and explosions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install gas heating units and their components
  • Attend to gas escape calls
  • Assist emergency response workers in the investigation of gas fires and explosions
  • Service gas heating units and their components
  • Install and maintain meters and regulators and gas lines between gas unit and gas meter
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems
  • Supervise other workers
  • Study drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the installation and materials required
  • Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Install and service propane and natural gas filling stations
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  • Test and replace defective equipment or components
  • Convert motor vehicles or appliances to use other fuels (e.g. propane or natural gas)
Requirements:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience
  • Green job: Involves duties and responsibilities that lead to positive environmental outcomes
  • Permanent employment
  • English language
  • 37.5 hours per week
