The Faculty of Arts & Science is seeking applications for anticipated course offerings in the upcoming terms:
Course Title: DIGF-3009: Atelier IV: Synthesis (1.0 credit)
COURSE OVERVIEW: Atelier IV: Synthesis invites students to enhance and evaluate their research and practice-based methodologies while collaborating on a project initially proposed and developed in the preceding semester. Engagement with industry remains a crucial aspect of project support and context. The competencies acquired in Atelier IV equip students for the formulation of a substantial body of work in their thesis year, for which thesis development will be provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching and related duties may encompass, but are not limited to: developing course outlines, preparing and delivering studio sessions, conducting lectures, facilitating critiques, grading assignments, and performing mid-term and final evaluations. Responsibilities also include ensuring health and safety compliance and meeting academic and curricular standards and deadlines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A terminal degree in art, design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level is advantageous; relevant experience will also be considered.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Proven leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive educational environment for students, staff, and faculty.
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Sessional appointments are fixed-term contracts. Compensation for sessional instructors is based on a per-course pay scale, with a salary level of $6 per 0.5 credit course, plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act. These positions are contingent upon budgetary approval and satisfactory enrollment levels.
