Job Title: Compliance Specialist

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic team. As an integral part of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's compliance with regulatory requirements and environmental commitments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to develop and implement effective compliance programs.
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and provide reports to the Compliance Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement practices, procedures, and programs to support company compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory requirements and company practices to ensure verification and compliance.
Requirements:
  • University degree in an environmental discipline (e.g., environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, ecology, marine biology, or natural resource management).
  • At least 5 years' experience in a compliance role for large natural resource or infrastructure projects in Western Canada.
  • Experience administering and auditing Environmental Management Systems, including those consistent with ISO14001 or similar established industry practices.
  • Familiarity with typical environmental management plans, community plans, and implementation plans to meet Environmental Assessment commitments.
