Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive cost accounting and budgeting tasks for designated operational units, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Access confidential information as necessary to fulfill assigned responsibilities.
- Collaborate with Business Leaders and Managers to formulate operational budgets, which includes:
- Gathering and analyzing historical cost data to create budget forecasts for review and approval.
- Making necessary adjustments based on historical and projected financial data.
- Preparing justifications for various budget items, including operating expenses and capital forecasts.
- Prepare regular performance and variance reports in collaboration with Business Leaders and Managers, analyzing activities and expenditures to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
- Advise operational teams on the application of financial procedures to enhance understanding and effective use of financial reports.
- Contribute to the development of financial policies, reporting formats, and related documentation.
- Prepare and review work orders, journal vouchers, and financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct research and special analyses related to operational activities, including:
- Creating ad-hoc reports for regulatory studies and other special projects.
- Maintaining statistical databases and summarizing information for presentations.
- Delivering written, graphical, and oral reports to support budget preparation and variance analysis.
- Participate in the development of financial management information systems, providing user input and conducting training sessions as needed.
- Perform various related duties, including local purchasing and facilities management.
- Completion of a Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and cost-benefit analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with computer systems and software applications used in the department (SAP, SharePoint, MS Office Suite).
