Job Summary

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for managing the complete buying process, working closely with production, manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering teams to ensure optimal quality, pricing, and delivery of components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Management: Manage Fasteners' commodity (approximately 1,000-1,500 SKUs) to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the Engineering team to discuss deviations, specification changes, plating, and raw materials.
  • Vendor Management: Communicate with vendors to negotiate prices, delivery terms, and other contractual agreements.
  • RFx Preparation and Analysis: Prepare and analyze RFx documents to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Order Management: Place and follow up on orders for production, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
  • Contract Management: Manage the current contract template, including the Supplier Requirement Manual, Development Agreement, Letter of Intent, and Limits of Liability, to ensure compliance with market realities.
Requirements:
  • Education: Post-secondary education in supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of sourcing/purchasing experience, with a strong background in managing large numbers of SKUs.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read drawings and technical specifications, with some knowledge of metal plating being a definite asset.
  • Soft Skills: Well-organized, task-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-changing environment.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management, including international contracts.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes) and any ERP systems, with a basic understanding of KANBAN.
