Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Offering business, financial oversight, and risk management advice to senior management.
  • Coordinating strategic and business planning initiatives within the division.
  • Conducting thorough research and analysis to assess the implications of proposals and suggest viable options for decision-making.
  • Assisting in the design of budgeting, management reporting, and risk control processes.
  • Advising senior management on corrective actions regarding financial performance variances.
  • Supporting the development of the division's annual business plan and fiscal allocations.
  • Compiling summary reports on program performance for senior management review.
  • Coordinating and reviewing submissions to the Treasury Board/Management Board of Cabinet.
  • Providing financial planning analyses to support strategic and operational planning.
  • Assisting with other divisional reporting requirements as needed.
Qualifications: Technical Skills and Knowledge:
  • Comprehensive understanding of strategic and financial planning, resource management, and current accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in financial administration to lead various planning and oversight activities.
  • Familiarity with performance measurement methodologies and techniques.
Communication and Relationship Management Skills:
  • Strong advisory and facilitation skills to collaborate with internal programs and ministries.
  • Excellent consultation and stakeholder management abilities to build consensus among diverse groups.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
Research and Analytical Skills:
  • Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate complex issues and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and identify trends affecting operations.
  • Competence in assessing the impact of proposed initiatives throughout the planning process.
Project Management and Computer Skills:
  • Organizational and project management skills to oversee various business activities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in various computer applications, including spreadsheets and financial reporting systems.
