Dietitian - Nutrition & Food Services Specialist

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Dietitian to join our team in the Nutrition and Food Services department. As a Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition advice and care to patients, families, and communities. You will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to develop and implement nutrition plans, and provide education and support to patients and families.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human nutrition, a dietetic internship program, and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists. You will have a minimum of one year of experience as a dietitian, with a focus on inpatient clinical nutrition. You will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

About You- • Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition at a recognized University
- • Dietetic Internship Program required
- • Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists required
- • Minimum one (1) year working experience as a dietitian preferred
- • Inpatient clinical nutrition experience is an asset
- • Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition
- • Experience counselling patients
- • Current WHMIS an asset
- • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications.
- • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills
- • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure of time limitations
- • Demonstrated participation in continuing education and upgrading of skills
- • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the interprofessional healthcare team
- • Competencies in other languages an asset
- Long Assignment, Part-Time; 30 Hours Biweekly
- Approximately 11 Months
$43.43 Hourly
