Responsibilities- Administer our financial consolidation, reporting, and planning tool.
- Lead Sonepar Canada's monthly close processes, including full-cycle accounting (journal entries, accruals, and adjustments).
- Assist the Corporate Controller in preparing various analyses for senior management and the parent company.
- Contribute to the realization of financial presentations for the executive leadership team.
- Balance sheet reconciliation and fixed asset control and management for the Holding company.
- Participate in finance projects, including implementing financial tools, KPIs, and formalizing accounting documentation.
- Oversee the annual internal control process and coordinate with various Opcos' of Sonepar Canada.
- Interact with Finance Directors of the Opcos' of Sonepar Canada and Sonepar's teams in France.
- Participate in the preparation of the corporate income tax provision and returns.
- Work with external auditors at year-end.
- As needed, oversee and/or coordinate with external consultants who assist with daily operations.
- Ad hoc projects and analysis.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with an accounting option.
- A valid accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position, ideally in a retail or distribution business.
- The ability to analyze and summarize information to understand findings and issues.
- An analytical mind and detail-oriented, inquisitive, with the ability to work conscientiously and consistently.
- Ability to work in close collaboration with a variety of individuals and groups.
- Bilingualism, oral and written (French and English).
- Strong computer skills, including Office suite, Excel spreadsheets, and Power BI.
- Experience with Infor SX and SAP an asset.
