The hourly rate for this position is: $32.75
We are seeking a dedicated team contributor who is eager to become part of our sawmill production facility. You possess a natural aptitude for working in a secure and productive manner. This is an entry-level opportunity with comprehensive training provided for successful candidates. Production staff will have the chance to progress swiftly to the next pay grade/role and advance in their careers.
In this role, you will collaborate with the most skilled professionals in the industry under the guidance of an innovative leader in the forest products sector. This position operates on a full-time rotating schedule (two weeks of days followed by two weeks of nights). Some roles may require availability for overnight shifts.
The position demands physical and mental endurance, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong awareness of your environment. You will be engaged with conveyor systems, industrial equipment, and mobile machinery.
As a Production Associate, your duties will encompass, but are not limited to:
- Shoveling, lifting, and transporting boards and debris while maintaining site cleanliness and working outdoors.
- Rotating through various job functions and responsibilities within your designated area throughout the manufacturing facility. Reviewing work to ensure accuracy and precision while adhering to schedules to maintain production timelines. Utilizing your knowledge, skills, and experience to analyze, troubleshoot, and communicate with your team lead and maintenance to ensure operations run smoothly.
- Taking responsibility for fostering a safe work environment for colleagues, customers, and site visitors.
- A safety-oriented mindset
- The ability to perform repetitive, manual tasks for extended periods, including lifting lumber, standing for long durations, walking, shoveling, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Experience with machinery and equipment is advantageous but not essential
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- A high level of urgency and attention to detail
- A 4th Class Power Engineering ticket is a plus
