About the Role
Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular Full-time Team Lead Plasma Nurse to become part of our vibrant Plasma Operations team.
The Plasma Operations team plays a crucial role in supporting Canadian Blood Services by ensuring the safe collection of plasma, which is essential for producing life-saving products. In this position, you will engage in projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the program's success, while also serving as an ambassador for the program and fostering a collaborative, customer-focused work environment. Furthermore, you will mentor and support staff in all operational tasks and oversee the consultation process, contributing to a culture of continuous quality enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations at the plasma site and guide staff to ensure processes are executed effectively, efficiently, and safely.
- Cultivate a positive work atmosphere where staff feel empowered, challenged, and engaged.
- Collaborate with management to maintain optimal site operations through a well-maintained environment and compliant equipment.
- Assess and identify the training and development needs of staff.
- Design and implement training programs to address identified learning requirements.
- Direct staff to the appropriate resources in the donor selection criteria manual.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for policy interpretation and adherence to procedural requirements for screening.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the site.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
- Licensed registered nurse eligible to practice in the province of employment.
- Minimum of three years of progressive experience in a public-facing role, especially in a high customer service environment.
- Preferred experience of at least three years in a team lead or supervisory role.
- Familiarity with current Good Manufacturing Practices is an asset.
- Proven leadership skills are essential.
- Strong commitment to achieving results and enhancing customer experience.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in French is a plus.
- Adaptable and comfortable with frequent changes.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills, team-building capabilities, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Detail-oriented and capable of functioning in a highly regulated environment.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet job demands.
- Must demonstrate judgment, tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
- Promote a positive public image.
