Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at YMCA Calgary. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children aged 12 months to 6 years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a diverse, developmentally appropriate program that reflects the centre's Program Plan and includes implementation of the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum and supervision practices.
  • Utilize established communication strategies for both internal and external YMCA Calgary stakeholders for operational effectiveness.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality childcare services, ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well-being of children in your care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to manage centre operations, including adapting your work schedule to meet area needs.
  • Support curriculum delivery and child development practices, both as scheduled and to meet operational needs.
  • Demonstrate safe practices and act promptly on all health and safety risks and concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe indoor and outdoor environment, adhering to established procedures identified by YMCA Calgary, Calgary Fire Department, Alberta Health Services, and Provincial Child Care Licensing Act and Early Learning and Child Care Regulations.
Requirements:
  • Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certification – Level 1, 2, or 3.
  • Experience working with children aged 12 months to 6 years in a licensed child care setting.
  • A positive attitude and collaborative teamwork approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including basic computer literacy.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the last 12 months).
  • Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Three professional references.
