The Lead Network Security Architect is the principal authority in crafting and executing the network security framework and solutions for the advanced operations of all Marriott International (MI) networks, encompassing Property Networks, Datacenter/Cloud Networks, and Corporate Networks.
This position requires close collaboration with a diverse team of expert network architects and engineers to promote the adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methodologies and operational models across all network product domains globally.
As the Lead Network Security Architect, the individual will concentrate on establishing and implementing a zero-trust security framework to thwart unauthorized access to Marriott's network while ensuring compliance with rigorous standards.
Reporting to the Director of SRE, the architect will be tasked with articulating and executing a strategic vision to tackle the growing complexity and scale of modern IT infrastructures, ensuring real-time visibility, assessment, remediation, and access control for Marriott services.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap by deploying security strategies and next-generation zero-trust solutions to guarantee that all system components comply with Marriott's network access and security requirements at a granular level.
This role is responsible for cultivating technical relationships and collaborating with various business units, MI teams, solution providers, and operational partners to define and implement the Network SRE zero-trust security roadmap, establishing and enforcing the standards outlined within.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or computer science or equivalent experience.
- Approximately 7+ years of experience in information technology, including 6+ years with network security tools.
- Expertise in designing and implementing policies for network security tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Compute Engine.
- Proficient in network analysis tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, and nmap.
- Experience in Agile methodologies, including daily stand-ups and sprint planning.
- Advanced degrees (MS, PhD) in Computer Science or related fields are preferred.
- Experience managing network security tools in the hospitality sector is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of emerging tools and systems for achieving optimal network security across the enterprise.
- Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences, including executives and IT teams.
The architect will lead the design and development of sophisticated global distributed infrastructure security solutions, enhancing the security posture, availability, and scalability of Datacenter/Cloud Networks, Property Networks, and Corporate Networks.
Additionally, the role includes managing Network SRE products and solutions, overseeing the design and engineering of new security tools, and defining operational Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) for all Network Infrastructure.
Establishing management-level relationships and collaborating with all business units to define the Network SRE Security roadmap and meet service level requirements is crucial.
