Job Opportunity

The Salvation Army British Columbia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Grace Mansion. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the personal development and growth of our residents, enabling them to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and guidance to residents in all areas of personal development and growth, life skills, and social and spiritual activities.
  • Supervise and monitor resident actions and interactions during assigned shifts.
  • Respond to resident inquiries within the framework of Centre Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain contact with community agencies and organizations to coordinate activities and resources for the benefit of the Centre and residents.
  • Initial response to emergencies such as fire alarms or other situations.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Training or certification in Addictions and/or Mental Health issues or willingness to be trained.
  • Certification in FOODSAFE Level 1 or willingness to be trained.
  • Computer skills and training in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
Working Conditions

The Support Worker will work in a residential setting, with the possibility of working in a designated workstation or moving through the residential areas and general building. The employee may be subject to hazardous or disagreeable conditions in the performance of their duties.
