Position Overview
The Senior Accounting Analyst plays a crucial role in evaluating inventory modifications, transactions, and monitoring within the inventory management framework. This position also involves generating financial assessments related to these expenses.
The analyst will maintain ongoing communication with distribution centers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of inventory controls and operational procedures, as well as their implications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate daily inventory modifications, including adjustments from cycle counts, and collaborate with inventory teams at distribution centers to mitigate inventory losses.
- Review outstanding inventory transactions and coordinate with distribution centers to ensure timely processing of these transactions.
- Conduct weekly analyses of customer credits to determine if inventory adjustments are necessary at distribution centers.
- Engage regularly with distribution centers to ensure clarity regarding inventory controls and operational processes.
- Prepare and submit month-end journal entries as required.
- Contribute to financial analyses related to purchasing and holding margins.
- Generate monthly invoices for distribution and storage fees associated with government inventories; prepare credits for monthly sales reimbursements and submit bank transfer requests.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly inventory cycle counts as part of SOX compliance.
- Conduct SOX testing as requested.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
- Capability to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, AS 400, and familiarity with SAP.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
The individual in this role will provide essential support to both internal and external clients. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
