Executive Director, Bonnechere Algonquin First Nation

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to join our team at Bonnechere Algonquin First Nation. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our organization and ensuring the effective management of our lands and resources.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and direction to the organization, ensuring alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
- Land Management: Oversee the management of our lands, including the development of land use plans, the negotiation of agreements with stakeholders, and the implementation of land management policies.
- Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with our community members, stakeholders, and partners, ensuring that our organization is responsive to their needs and concerns.
- Financial Management: Oversee the financial management of the organization, including the development of budgets, the management of financial resources, and the implementation of financial policies.
- Human Resources: Provide leadership and direction to our human resources function, ensuring that we have the talent and skills needed to achieve our goals.
- Education: A degree from a recognized university in a relevant field of study, such as business administration, law, or environmental science.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a First Nation or Indigenous organization.
- Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to provide strategic direction and oversight to the organization. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Language: Proficiency in both official languages, English and French.
- Indigenous Knowledge: Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and histories, with a strong understanding of the rights and interests of Indigenous peoples.
- Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of financial management, human resources, and land management.
