Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Home Support Scheduler to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Home Support Scheduler, you will play a critical role in developing and coordinating home support service schedules, ensuring seamless delivery of care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate home support service schedules in accordance with service referral requests and applicable collective agreements.
  • Schedule Community Health Workers (CHWs) as authorized by clinicians, receiving referrals and service changes, and entering data into our computer system.
  • Carry out timekeeping tasks, such as coordinating work schedules on our scheduling software system.
Work Environment

Our Home Support Scheduler will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, collaborating with our healthcare team to provide exceptional care to our patients. You will be based in our Fraser Lake Community Health Centre, which offers a range of services, including diagnostic imaging, laboratory, and community palliative care support.

Requirements
  • Grade 12 graduation from a recognized Office Administration Certificate program and two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
  • Ability to type 40 wpm.
  • Ability to operate scheduling and database software in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, community health workers, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
