Job Summary

**Status:** Full-Time

**Compensation Type:** Salary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Associate Physician to join our Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant team at Vancouver Coastal Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services within the scope of an Associate Physician's duties and responsibilities
  • Work under the supervision of the attending physician on a day-to-day basis
  • Support the provision of continuous care in a team-based environment
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Document patient information in accordance with organizational standards and policies
Qualifications
  • Medical degree from a school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools
  • Minimum of two (2) years of accredited postgraduate training as a medical or surgical specialist
  • Successful completion of Part 1 of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) or Steps 1 through 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLEs)
  • Meet the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia's English language proficiency requirements
  • Be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia in the Associate Physician class
Knowledge and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills to diagnose and manage common issues arising in Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant patients
  • Ability to perform within the scope of Associate Physician duties and responsibilities
  • Excellent English communication skills, including with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Computer and written communication skills, including order entry and clinical documentation
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment and adapt to complex, dynamic situations
Assessment and Probationary Period

During a 12-week probationary period, you will undergo assessment and evaluation of your competence to perform the duties in the intended specialty areas under a supervising physician.

Remuneration

You will be paid in accordance with the provincial guidelines established by the Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC) at the pay level of Range 9 following a successful 12-week orientation and assessment period.
