Job Summary

The Assistant Produce Manager will assist the Department Manager in achieving company, store, and department goals. This role will be responsible for providing superior customer service, supporting the training and development of the team, and maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency in the produce department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service and support Farm Boy's vision of the best fresh shopping experience.
  • Team Development
    • Assist in the development of the team by supporting the training, coaching, and recognition of team members.
  • Department Operations
    • Assist in the management of the produce department, including merchandising, rotation, and inventory management.
  • Office Management
    • Support office management functions, including completing inventory and orders, invoices, and scheduling.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
    • Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
    • Clear and effective communication style, both written and oral.
    • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
    • Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance.

Work Environment

  • Working in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Providing service to several people or departments.
  • Performing extensive and repetitive data entry.
  • Sitting for long periods of time at workstation.
