As a Substance Abuse Counselor at Alouette Addictions Services Society, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals facing challenges related to addiction. This position is temporary and requires a commitment of 22.5 to 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications- Education: A Master's degree is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
You will be working primarily in counseling centers, collaborating with other health care professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct evaluations and assess clients' needs through interviews and case history preparation.
- Monitor and analyze treatment effectiveness and patient outcomes.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
- Provide therapeutic support through individual and group counseling sessions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client progress and treatment plans.
- Educate clients on health promotion, injury prevention, and management strategies.
- Collaborate with community agencies to facilitate referrals and additional support services.
- Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with Windows operating systems is essential.

- Dependable and organized with a focus on client needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
