Senior Cost Consultant Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Consultant to join our team in Ottawa. As a key member of our Real Estate team, you will work closely with top clients and support the growth of our business.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and forward-thinking Senior Cost Consultant to work on a major program. You will be responsible for delivering better outcomes for our clients, helping our people to realize their potential, and contributing to the creation of a prosperous society.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify risks and opportunities in the design that will have a cost implication.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of change control procedures.
  • Integrated change management across various packages, including controlling, tracking, and reporting pre-contract changes across a multi-billion dollar program.
  • Pre-contract change control, including reviewing impact and advising on funding sources.
  • Review and assure Construction Cost Estimates produced by others at all stages of design.
  • Manage and take responsibility for estimating and cost planning activities, including presenting the final cost plan/estimate to the client team.
  • Carry out research related to construction market conditions throughout Canada, including analysis of official published data and engaging with the market to obtain up-to-date rates for all construction products.
  • Manage and mentor junior staff.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 10 years' experience delivering pre-construction and post-contract construction cost services.
  • A recognized University Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, including a WES (or equivalent) certificate.
  • Knowledge of and experience using CostX is an asset but not essential.
