Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team at Versatile Sewing Inc. This is a permanent position that requires a commitment to maintaining high standards in our shipping and receiving operations.

Work Environment

The role is set in a manufacturing environment where efficiency and accuracy are paramount. You will be expected to work 40 hours per week in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and select the appropriate method for shipment.
  • Prepare essential shipping documents including bills of lading and invoices.
  • Assemble and organize containers and crates for outgoing shipments.
  • Inspect incoming goods and verify them against relevant documentation.
  • Maintain a meticulous internal record-keeping system.
  • Document any shortages and manage the rejection of damaged items.
  • Direct goods to their designated storage locations.
  • Pack items securely for shipment.
  • Unpack and inspect received goods.
  • Label shipments with necessary identifying information and instructions.
Equipment Proficiency

Familiarity with the following equipment is required:

  • Dollies and hand trucks
  • Pallet lifters
Safety and Security

A criminal record check will be necessary for this position.

Physical Demands

The role requires:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Willingness to stand for extended periods and manage a large workload.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
