Job Summary:The Retail Store Supervisor will be responsible for supervising staff, assigning sales workers to duties, hiring and training staff, and authorizing payments and merchandise returns. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff, including cashiers, retail salespersons, and sales clerks.
- Assign sales workers to duties and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently.
- Hire and train new staff members, or arrange for training to be provided.
- Authorize payments by cheque and order merchandise as needed.
- Establish work schedules and ensure that staff are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters.
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer complaints and supply shortages.
- Organize and maintain inventory, and ensure that stock levels are adequate.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail environment.
- Permanent employment with 35 hours per week.
- English language proficiency.
The Retail Store Supervisor will work in a fast-paced retail environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and achieving sales targets. The successful candidate will be able to work under pressure, handle heavy loads, and maintain attention to detail.
