We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Indigenous Education Advocate. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of Indigenous students and contribute to the success of our school district.
Job Summary:The Indigenous Education Advocate will provide additional culture, language, and emotional support to Indigenous students in our school. This role requires a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:- Provide cultural support and guidance to Indigenous students
- Develop and implement culturally responsive programs and activities
- Build relationships with Indigenous families and communities
- Collaborate with school staff to create a culturally inclusive learning environment
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
- Two years of studies related to working with Indigenous families and children or equivalent
- B.C. Driver's License class 5 with an exemplary driving record
- 6 months of current relevant experience working with Indigenous students
