Job Title: Process and Controls Engineering Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process and Controls Engineering Intern to join our team at Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions. As a Process and Controls Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including water process design, technical writing, and process control document development.

Job Summary:

The Process and Controls Engineering Intern will support the Process Engineering team with water process design and technical writing tasks, including developing process design documentation, tools, and procedures. You will also work closely with technical experts in plant design to refine our internal design tools and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate in project process and controls design review meetings.
  • Help create process and controls documents for water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Contribute to the development of company standards and templates.
  • Develop performance test procedures, analyze collected results, and prepare customer-facing detailed reports.
  • Develop team productivity tools.
  • Support with project issue resolution related to design, start-up, and performance.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical discipline.
  • Passion for the environment and water treatment.
  • Self-motivated, quick to deliver, and a team player.
  • Able to demonstrate a dedication to safety and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and through technical writing.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced, collaborative, work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with co-workers.
Preferred Skills:
  • Understanding of hydraulics and fundamentals of fluid mechanics.
  • Understanding of basic water chemistry and/or treatment processes.
  • Understanding of process flow diagrams (PFD), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), process controls, and electrical/network design concepts.
  • Water treatment experience would be an asset.
