About the Role:
Alberta Health Services is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Environmental Services Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Services II - Cleaner/Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our staff, patients, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a range of cleaning services in clinical and non-clinical areas, including treatment rooms, staff areas, and public spaces.
- Operate industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance, thorough washing of ceilings and windows, and emptying hazardous waste.
- Provide training and orientation to Environmental Services staff as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the Environmental Services team to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
- Knowledge and operation of a computer, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of your shift.
- Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs of force.
Preferred Qualifications:
- General knowledge of cleaning techniques and methods.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Successful completion of a basic housekeeping program is an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written format.
