Job Title: Light Duty Cleaner

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Light Duty Cleaner to join our team at Uptown Montessori School Inc.

Job Summary:

The Light Duty Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school facilities. This includes sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors, dusting furniture, and vacuuming carpets and upholstered furniture.

Responsibilities:
  • Sweep, mop, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Dust furniture and fixtures to ensure a clean and tidy appearance
  • Vacuum carpets, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture to maintain a clean and dust-free environment
  • Distribute clean towels and toiletries to students and staff
  • Handle and report lost and found items to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
  • Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items
  • Provide basic information on facilities to visitors and staff
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties as needed
  • Wash windows, walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and tidy appearance
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner
Requirements:
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling are required for this role
  • A combination of sitting, standing, and walking is required for this role
  • Experience is an asset, but not required
  • Permanent employment with 32.5 hours per week
  • English is the primary language of communication
