About the Role

CN is seeking a skilled Fleet Management Garage Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in top working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Routine Maintenance and Repairs
    • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
    • Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including minor and major repairs, servicing, and upfitting
  • Use Specialized Equipment and Tools
    • Operate electric and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, as well as other specialized tools and equipment
  • Record and Document Work
    • Accurately record and document work performed, including details of repairs and maintenance
  • Work in a Fast-Paced Environment
    • Work in a fast-paced environment, with variable shifts to accommodate vehicle availability
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications
    • Must be in possession of a valid Provincial Department of Labor Journeyman Certificate in the Heavy Duty or Commercial Transport Mechanical Repair Trade
    • Other additional mechanic certification (i.e., Automotive Mechanic Journeyman Certificate) would be an asset
  • Experience and Skills
    • Must have at least five years' experience in the Heavy Duty or Commercial Transport repair trade
    • Capable of certifying company equipment in accordance with Provincial/Regulatory standards
    • Valid Provincial driver's license is required
    • Air endorsement and class upgrade would be an asset
Working Conditions

The Fleet Management Garage Technician will work in a shop environment, with occasional outside work at terminals and in the field. Variable shifts to accommodate vehicle availability may be required. Prolonged stay away from home when performing fieldwork may be required.
