Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Integrated Stroke Unit/Telemetry department at Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a collaborative and dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients in the Integrated Stroke Unit/Telemetry department
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients to identify their physical, emotional, and social needs
  • Develop and implement effective care plans to meet the needs of patients and their families
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Requirements
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Recent clinical experience in Stroke Care/Rehabilitation preferred
  • Recent/related courses in Stroke Care/Rehabilitation nursing preferred
  • Ability to plan, organize, and problem-solve
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent physical assessment skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret typical and atypical telemetry and cardiac monitoring
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Recent Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course or equivalent
  • Recent 12 lead ECG interpretation course, or equivalent
