Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Tax Analyst to join our team. As a Tax Analyst, you'll play a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and accurately updating tax calculations and forms within our software. Your expertise will be essential in developing and improving new software features, working with tax authorities to certify our products, and collaborating with customer support representatives to resolve customer issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed specifications for engineers to implement tax calculations and forms within our software.
  • Test tax calculations, user experience, and form display changes to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Apply tax, accounting, and business knowledge to develop and improve new software features.
  • Collaborate with tax authorities to certify our tax products and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Work with customer support representatives to resolve customer issues and provide exceptional support.
  • Continuously assess and drive process and tool improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing federal and provincial tax returns, such as T1/TP-1.
  • Strong background in tax research and analysis, with a deep understanding of Canadian tax law.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient with tax preparation software, such as TaxCycle, TaxPrep, and ProFile.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in French (spoken and written).
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM and IT project management.
  • Programming/coding experience.
