Position Overview:
The Lead Financial Analyst plays a crucial role within the Investment Strategy Team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Investment Strategy and Asset Management. This position is accountable for ensuring precise and timely financial reporting for the Accoravillage Group and conducting comprehensive asset valuations across our diverse portfolio.
This role will involve collaboration with various departments, including Acquisitions, Development, Property Management, Asset Management, Legal, Fundraising, Marketing, and Accounting, to provide strategic financial analysis while adhering to best practices in all financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of tailored financial and operational metrics for investor fundraising initiatives and reporting
- Contribute to the preparation of fundraising presentations and associated materials
- Establish and oversee internal portfolio-level financial and operational performance metrics
- Assess property-level performance by analyzing actual results against plans and forecasts
- Create analytical tools and conduct market research, data mining, and property-level benchmarking
- Analyze financial market data and benchmarks to support decision-making processes
- Provide analytical support to Asset Management and Property Management teams, offering insights for the organization as a whole
- Supply the Sales departments with performance trends and relevant information for sales strategies
- Enhance productivity through the development of automated reporting and forecasting tools
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and governmental regulations
- Address ad hoc requests from senior management and the Finance Team
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated strategic analytical skills with the ability to manage complex financial models
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive attitude with a desire for continuous learning and professional growth
- Adaptability and the capacity to manage shifting priorities
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Educational Background and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
- CFA designation or in progress
- 3-5 years of experience in finance and accounting
- Understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and auditing standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
- Experience in due diligence and mergers & acquisitions
- Strong background in financial reporting and financial modeling is essential
