Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at School District #45 (West Vancouver). As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our school facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of school facilities, including classrooms, hallways, and common areas.
  • Perform a variety of cleaning and minor maintenance tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors by monitoring and reporting any hazards or incidents.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Site Custodian to develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
  • Building Service Worker Certificate.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
  • Fire Safety Course.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned duties.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as Building Service Worker (Division I, III, IV) by Canadian Building Servicing Association.
  • Previous experience in the maintenance of commercial or school buildings.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Building Service Management Course.
