Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist III to join our team at BC Children's Hospital & BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre. As a key member of our Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Program, you will be responsible for assessing and diagnosing communication disorders in children with cleft palate and/or other craniofacial conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's communication skills, including speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication disorders, including speech therapy, counseling, and education for families and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care to children with cleft palate and/or other craniofacial conditions.
  • Provide consultative support to community therapists and healthcare providers on best practices for assessment and treatment of communication disorders in children with cleft palate and/or other craniofacial conditions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of program policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure high-quality care for children with cleft palate and/or other craniofacial conditions.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • 5+ years of experience in pediatric speech-language pathology, with a focus on cleft palate and/or other craniofacial conditions.
  • Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech-language pathology, including assessment and treatment of communication disorders in children with cleft palate and/or other craniofacial conditions.
