About the Role:

As a Health Care Aide with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in home, community, or healthcare facility settings. Your primary responsibility will be to assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, while also providing emotional support and companionship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding
  • Help patients with mobility and transfer activities
  • Monitor and report on patient's mood, health, and wellbeing
  • Assist with organized activities or programs

Requirements:

  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire
  • Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with business insurance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Supportive Pathways course
  • Palliative Care course/experience
  • NVCI course
  • It's Your Move course
  • Medication Assistance Program (MAP)
  • Foot care course/experience
