Laboratory Analyst, Day Shifts

Role Overview
On-site | Seasonal | Entry Level
The Laboratory Analyst will engage in a variety of laboratory functions, both independently and collaboratively, focusing on sample analysis, laboratory upkeep, and data generation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate laboratory instruments according to established protocols;
- Prepare samples, reagents, and standards for testing;
- Conduct analyses on diverse sample types using laboratory equipment to provide precise results;
- Execute necessary data processing tasks, including data entry and documentation;
- Perform calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instruments as needed;
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure timely delivery of results to clients;
- Make technical decisions for complex analyses;
- Monitor inventory of laboratory supplies;
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and maintain strict quality assurance and quality control standards;
- Organize tasks to meet turnaround times;
- Follow established methods to ensure analytical integrity;
- Comply with safety regulations and ALS health and safety policies;
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate Profile:
- Proficient in English communication skills (auditory, verbal, written, and reading);
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Strong computer skills;
- Efficient and accurate data entry capabilities;
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately in a dynamic environment;
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines;
- Analytical mindset with critical thinking abilities;
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively;
- Strong work ethic and adaptability to various tasks;
- Commitment to excellence and a client-oriented approach.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Chemistry or a related field;
- One year of experience in an analytical laboratory or a related area (preferred);
- Experience with Metals ICPMS analysis (preferred).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs/14 kg regularly;
- Manual dexterity for intricate tasks;
- Compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements;
- Capability to stand for extended periods;
- Ability to perform general office tasks, including sedentary work;
- Potential exposure to unpleasant odors.
