Job Title: Journeyperson Welder

MATRIX Camps is a leading provider of camps, logistics, and aviation management services to various clients in the resource and service sectors. We are seeking an experienced Journeyperson Welder to join our team at one of our remote camps.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and troubleshoot mobile and heavy equipment, fabricating, assembling, and repairing as needed.
  • Perform manual welding, flame-cutting, brazing, and soldering, shaping, ARC, and GAS welding tasks.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and ensure proper maintenance and repairs are completed.
  • Order parts and materials needed for fabrication and repair tasks.
  • Prepare and clean up the work site, including rubbish removal.
  • Assist in completing necessary documentation to ensure cost-effectiveness and budget allocation.
  • Provide quality workmanship consistent with industry standards and stakeholder expectations.
  • Understand and interpret blueprints for fabrication and repair tasks.
  • Participate in daily toolbox meetings and support monthly work-site inspections.
  • Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
  • Notify the Manager of unsafe practices and environments.
  • Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of one (3) years of experience working in a field construction and/or camp setting.
  • Certified Journeyman Welder (Red Seal)
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work a rotation schedule.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule.
  • Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 - 12 hour shift.
Preferred Licensing & Certifications:
  • WHIMS Certification.
  • Previous experience working in a remote camp setting.
  • Proficient in all aspects of welding/fabrication repair and replacement.

MATRIX Camps offers a fly-in/fly-out position with travel arrangements made and paid for by the company. The salary range is $700/day - $800/day depending on skills, experience, and certifications.
