Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Training: A baccalaureate degree in a mental health-related discipline is required. Eligibility for licensing or registration in a professional association related to mental health care is also necessary.

Experience: Two years of recent related experience in areas requiring frequent crisis intervention and risk assessment are required. This experience should include understanding of mental health and substance use issues, as well as psychiatric and suicide risk assessments.

Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate will have knowledge of available programs and services, as well as applicable legislation, such as the Mental Health Act, Child Protection legislation, and Infants Act. A valid BC Drivers License is also required.

Key Responsibilities

Crisis Intervention and Risk Assessment: The successful candidate will be responsible for frequent crisis intervention and risk assessment in areas related to mental health and substance use.

Program Development and Implementation: The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing programs and services related to mental health and substance use.

Collaboration and Communication: The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders to provide comprehensive care to clients.
