About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Helper at 3059308 Nova Scotia Ltd. o/a HI Dartmouth. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that all dishes and utensils are properly sanitized and stored, and assisting with food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain a high level of hygiene and safety.
  • Food Preparation: Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits, as well as preparing and heating simple food items.
  • Plate Presentation: Ensure that all dishes are properly plated and presented to meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas to maintain an organized and efficient inventory system.
  • Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure that all waste is disposed of properly.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, refrigerators, and other appliances.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
