John Ross & Sons Ltd. stands as the premier scrap metal recycling operation in Atlantic Canada, dedicated to surpassing client expectations. We are on the lookout for a motivated and safety-conscious Welder to enhance our growing workforce in Goodwood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize semi-automatic welding machinery to join metal components through techniques such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), pre-heating, tack welding, and flame cutting.
  • Perform torch cutting tasks.
  • Engage in the welding, fabrication, and maintenance of diverse equipment.
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication devices effectively.
  • Conduct minor repairs on equipment as necessary.
  • Identify and report deficiencies to the appropriate management personnel.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized work environment.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Completion of technical or vocational training, or a blend of education and experience.
  • Safety-oriented mindset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Important Note: Candidates must possess reliable transportation, as public transit is not available to this location.

Compensation: Salary to be negotiated based on experience.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM; Saturday 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM (flexible). Overtime may be required.
